Which artist type should you choose?

We offer a choice of three artist positions at ModCo.  You can read more about each artist type here, but which one is right for you?

Studio Artist
Pay per creation.  Earn up to 30% on basic rates

You're free to work at multiple sites, but anything submitted to ModCo should be exclusive. 
Premier Studio Artist
Pay per creation.  Earn up to 200% on basic rates
Yes
You work exclusively for ModCo and no other site (past work can stay at other sites, but all new uploads to be at ModCo only).  No other requirements.
Staff Artist
Fixed monthly fee of $3k, rising to $4k, bonuses and career opportunities
Mostly
40 hours per week.  Can submit to other sites in your own time, but most and best work must be at ModCo.


Helping you choose...

  1. If you:
    1. earn a good income ($2,000 or more per month) from other sites
    2. don't want to be fully exclusive to ModCo
    3. already have other employment
    4. still have capacity to create for us for a little extra cash
    5. then your best choice is Studio Artist.

  2. If you:
    1. don't earn more than $2,000 from other sites
    2. are happy being fully exclusive to us
    3. want an immediate +15 MODlvl points head-start
    4. already have other employment
    5. still have capacity to create for us
    6. then you can earn more with us as a Premier Studio Artist
  1. If you:
    1. don't have other full-time work
    2. are happy to be fully exclusive to ModCo for 40 hours every week
    3. will still give the most and best of your work to ModCo (you can upload in your free time any non-ModCo files elsewhere provided your main focus is still MODCo)
    4. would like a full-time career with us in any of the following:
      1. full time 3D modelling or texturing
      2. helping us enter new game markets
      3. developing generative AI use in 3D 
      4. entering Blockchain markets/NFT creation
      5. working with commercial partners on commissions
      6. being on our staff team either here or running our partner sites
    5. then your best choice is Staff Artist
       

How to change your artist type

To switch between Studio Artist and Premier Studio Artist, simply contact one of the staff on Discord and we'll make that change for you immediately (MODlvl increases always take affect from the beginning of the next month).

If you're interested in becoming a Staff Artist, let us know and we'll add you to our shortlist.  We can't always guarantee acceptance because we have to have vacancies, and specific people will fill different roles that we need, but we will add you to our shortlist and will contact you once we have a space perfectly suited to your particular skillset.


Questions

For exclusivity, do I have to delete my accounts at other sites?

No, not at all, and if you choose the premier role, you can still upload an occasional (non-MODCo) creation to another site in order to keep your account active.

If I change my artist position, can I revert back later if it's not for me?

Yes.  While this might impact your overall MODlvl score, you're free to change at any time.

Do I still increase my MODlvl score?

No, we pay you a fixed rate plus performance bonuses, so MODlvl no longer applies to you.  You will still qualify for the milestone cash prizes though.
